Places, names, and technology used in Javik Station’s roleplay. This list is updated regularly.

C

  • Cloning
Cloning is performed by mixing nanites with base organic compounds. The nanites are programmed to assemble the organic material following a sequenced genome. Cloning a complete human being takes approximately 2 weeks. The resulting clone has an adult body but the mind of a newborn animal unless memories are imprinted onto the brain.
  • Cybernetics
Cybernetics are advanced medical components and prosthetics. They often incorporate nanite treatment to integrate them with the body.
  • Cyborg
Cyborgs are humans with advanced medical prosthetics, usually the result of injury. In addition to limbs and eyes, some patients require a controller device to regulate life support. Cybernetic implants do not provide superpowers or extreme strength beyond what would be capable of a human with prosthetics. The human body can be replaced with synthetic components up to the organic brain and is still considered a human with the legal standing of a human.

G

  • Gaga-Rin Colony
The Yuri Gagarin Mine was established in the mountains of Eisa by the Soviet Union in 1984. After the USSR collapsed in 1992, the mining camp was abandoned. During flooding in the coastal region of Eisa in 1997, the mine was used as a refugee camp under the leadership of former miners. The camp was outfitted as a permanent settlement and was incorporated as an independent, sovereign colony in 2005. It serves as a shipping and distribution hub to colonies in the Eisa system.

J

  • Javik Units
Javik Units are state-of-the-art androids created by Andrei Javik. They function on Javik Station as Andrei’s private security force, administrative and engineering units, and as pleasure bots for his customers. While some are fully synthetic, most have been converted (illegally) from human subjects using an extensive process combining surgical roboticization, nanite treatments, and special programming of their controller device.

N

  • Nanites
Nanites are programmable nanomachines developed by Nanite Systems in 2006. Nanites are categorized as industrial and medical.
  • Nanites (Industrial)
Industrial Nanites are used to convert sludge waste into useful substances like metal, rubber, and plastic. They are ideal for repairing ship hulls. They are very dangerous when they come in contact with living tissue.
  • Nanites (Medical)
Medical nanites can be programmed to repair damaged tissue, target diseased cells, attack viral infections, and perform DNA editing.

S

    • Sputnik’s
Originally an equipment shed for the Yuri Gagarin mine, the building was used as a chow hall and meeting space for the fledgling refugee camp that would become Gaga-Rin Colony. The establishment was branded as “Sputnik’s” in 1997 and is now the watering hole and recreational hang-out for locals. Sputnik’s is owned by the Gaga-Rin Planning Council and run by former miner Igor Antonovich.
